A hearty congratulations to KPLU for winning the Service to America Award from the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation. The award honors KPLU’s School of Jazz program, connecting high school jazz band students with professional musicians to create a CD and giving the proceeds back to schools. KPLU’s program, started in 2005, has inspired many a station to deepen its relationship with communities who care about cultivating music education.
